ABOUT CHRIS

Chris Bennett is a Maine-based photographer specializing in editorial, commercial, and outdoor storytelling. Trained in photojournalism at Rochester Institute of Technology, his work is rooted in observation, authenticity, and a deep appreciation for the people and places that shape our experiences.

Raised in the woods of Maine, Chris has spent much of his life exploring the outdoors and seeking meaningful stories. Before becoming a full-time photographer, he worked as a backcountry ranger on the Appalachian Trail, living in a tent for six months and learning to adapt to constantly changing conditions. That experience continues to influence his work today, informing a calm, patient approach and an ability to connect with people quickly and naturally.

Chris has traveled extensively across six continents and has a particular affinity for slow, immersive adventures. He once rode his bicycle across the United States, raising $40,000 for mental health awareness, and has completed long-distance cycling journeys through Morocco, Rwanda, and Oman. These experiences have fostered a deep curiosity about the world and an appreciation for stories that unfold organically.

His photography has been commissioned by editorial, corporate, and nonprofit clients seeking thoughtful, story-driven imagery with a strong sense of place. Whether documenting conservation efforts in remote landscapes, creating visual narratives for outdoor brands, or producing portraits that feel genuine and unforced, Chris approaches each assignment with preparation, adaptability, and an enduring belief that the best photographs come from paying attention.

He lives in Maine, still spends as much time outside as possible. At heart, Chris is simply someone who remains endlessly curious about people, wild places, and the stories that connect them.
